welcome to Nutz about rap!!
this very first post is going to be an introductory one, drop A's on you about what's gonna be happening in here, why and how.
first on the plate, Nutz about rap is an urban voice centered around expressions found in the hip hop element of rap..but not just any rap! here is where we are gonna break down the build of hip hop artists to get to the bone of what they do..who they are and exactly how they put this creative element to a truthful expression of their own make.
when ur really nutz about rap this is the place for you cos we are gonna analyse rap from every friggin dimension you can think of!!
doesn't that just excite the flip out of you?! and if it doesn't, you certainly standing in the wrong cue! lol...
on the upside scale of this column, I'm a media and Politics major that plans to put my politically centered investigative journalism to the aid of hip hop, in the hope of developing my (and your) understanding of rap/emceeing as a powerful creative tool beyond what we are fed by the mainstream media, in order to attend to to the roots of its beautiful make and fully get to appreciate it as a form of expression whose canvas is beyond spiritual!
not only is rap a powerful creative tool but also a socialising and conditioning agent in our societies, we get to look into that too, through deconstructing rap as a discourse of study, and just that opportunity presented to me by this blog to practically apply everything that my degree is feeding me, and looking at all that theory from a realistic angle also and contrast that with what i see on the regular.
Nuts about rap...what is a Nut?
"A Nut is a freespirited individual
who desires to find and make their own place
in society and not simply accept what they
are expected to be.
people with their
own opinions and thoughts,
who wish to go beyond the limits
that are presented to us...
simply put....
a Nut is somebody who the average person
would look and say " your a little different n wierd
and don't like restrictions,so your a rebel"
...dare to to find your own self outside of what you are expected to be.
If your nothing like a nut, then my hope is to transform you into one soon...
